Denial

I've lived in denial before. I refused to acknowledge that I was in a bad place in my life, that my spending habits weren't healthy, that my words weren't life-giving, and that I wasn't living aligned with God's Word. Each morning when I got up, I pretended that I was fine, that everything was fine, and I didn't have the strength or the desire to make the needed changes. The problem with denial is that you can spend a lot of time camped there.
So, how do we move past denial to acceptance? We admit. We confess. We invite someone into our journey to help us take the next step and return to God's path. We lay down our pride, and we choose God over everything else. If this is you today, say this prayer and invite Jesus in:

Father God,
I confess that I haven't been living as You planned for me. l've made mistakes, I have regrets, and I don't know how to move forward. Please help me.
I lay down my pride and admit this to You. Please forgive me. Please give me wisdom and help me change. Please bring people into my life who can help me. Please help me take the next step. I love you, and I thank you for everything You are going to do.

In Jesus name,
Amen
