Betrayal
I remember thinking that Judas’s betrayal began here, with the kiss. But it didn’t. It began much earlier, with small decisions, small compromises, and the belief that he was owed something, and when it didn’t go his way, he was out.
Looking back on my journey, I was furthest from the Lord and His plan for my life when I chose what I thought was best for me. It was the small decisions, and small compromises, and the belief that I deserved more. I wanted the love and blessings, but I also wanted to pick and choose how I would follow Him, and when it was convenient for me.
Betrayal doesn’t have to be one major act, like a kiss, and the question isn't, "Am I like Judas?" The better question is, “Lord, is there any area of my life I haven't fully surrendered to you?” And, “Am I all in?”
