The Eye of the Needle
When people read this verse, this is what they see - a camel and a sewing needle. And while this is han impossible, too, it may not have been the imagery Jesus was creating when He said these words. The Eye of the Needle was actually a narrow gateway into Jerusalem. Back then, camels were ridden and used to transport belongings from place to place.
But camels would need to be unloaded to get through this narrow gateway. Jesus could have been making the analogy that a wealthy man would have to empty his material possessions to enter heaven, just like the camel going through the gateway. Either way, Jesus ends with the one thing we must remember - nothing is impossible with God. If you are looking for salvation today, you must let go of whatever you are holding onto and seek first His Kingdom.
